Position: Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Nature of position: Temporary/Contractual
Location: Mumbai and partly in IIT Kanpur
Principal Investigator: Prof. S. N. Tripathi
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences/Atmospheric Sciences/Climate Sciences or closely related field.
Desirable: Strong background in atmospheric science and air quality research. Knowledge of air quality monitoring sensors/regulatory grade instruments. Experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence models. Significant background in handling and processing large data sets. Experience in GIS analysis. Knowledge of programming languages like FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, Igore, R, QGIS/ArcGIS.
Salary: INR 60000-5000-85000 per month consolidated (Salary shall be commensurate with experience & skills)
Duration of appointment: 1 Year or till the end of the project (whichever is earlier), renewed annually based on performance
Job Responsibilities: Air quality monitoring/Air quality analysis/Spatio-temporal Analysis/Geospatial analysis/ Machine learning. This research uses extensive sensor data, mapping tools, and advanced analytical techniques (statistics and machine learning) to: 1) understand how air quality varies across different land-use areas and over time, aiming to improve land-use based planning and policy; and 2) assess the health effects of air pollution exposure by combining location and time-based data with AI models.
