Principal Investigator (PI): Prof. Krishna Kanti Dey
Job Description: The researcher will conduct experimental studies on enzyme-driven active matter, focusing on non-thermal active fluctuations generated by enzymes in crowded, cytoplasmic-like environments. Key responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, analyzing data using advanced imaging and tracking techniques, and closely collaborating within a multidisciplinary team that includes biologists, engineers, and physicists. The successful candidate will also mentor students, contribute to grant proposal development, and support ongoing interdisciplinary research collaborations.
Essential Qualification: Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field. Those who have submitted their doctoral thesis are also eligible to apply. The candidate should have a consistently strong academic record, with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade in graduation and higher qualifications, and at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in 10th and 12th.
Preferred Skills:
- A strong publication record in relevant research areas such as active matter, biophysics, or nanotechnology.
- Demonstrated research experience in interdisciplinary environments.
- Expertise in enzyme studies in both in vivo and in vitro environments, and experience with crowded or cytoplasmic conditions.
- Proficiency in various microscopy and spectroscopic techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python), image processing, and particle tracking methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
Duration: This appointment is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
Fellowship amount: The monthly consolidated salary is ₹72,000 with no additional allowances. Candidates should be prepared to join within one month of receiving an offer.
