Panjab University, Chandigarh, India invites applications for faculty position

Panjab University, Chandigarh invites applications for three (03) positions of Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) in the Department of Biophysics, Panjab University, Chandigarh on a purely temporary basis to teach B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. (Hons.) Biophysics during the Even Semester of the Academic Year 2024-25.

Eligibility/Qualification:

1. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale) at the Master’s degree level in Biophysics or allied areas from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. A relaxation of 5% in marks shall be provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST, Physically & Visually Handicapped, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Ph.D. Degree holders who obtained their Master’s Degree prior to September 19, 1991.
3. Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar accredited tests such as SLET/SET, or must have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC regulations.
4. Candidates registered for the Ph.D. program before July 11, 2009, are exempted from NET/SLET/SET requirements if they meet the following conditions:
   a) Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode.
   b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners.
   c) Open Ph.D. viva-voce conducted.
   d) At least two research papers published from Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.
   e) At least two conference/seminar presentations based on Ph.D. work.
   f) These conditions must be certified by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs).

How to Apply: Interested candidates must submit:

1. A soft copy of the application in the prescribed UGC regulation 2018 form.
2. Self-attested copies of relevant certificates and documents.
3. Applications should be sent via email to chairpersonbiophysics@pu.ac.in by 24.02.2028.
4. A hard copy of the application must also be submitted to the Chairperson, Department of Biophysics, BMS-Block-11, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Venue of Interview:

• The interview will be held at the office of the Chairperson, Department of Biophysics, BMS-Block-11, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
• Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the date and time of the interview.
