MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PAY:
Qualification: PhD with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout. Candidate should have good CPI/CGPA/Percentage in PhD coursework wherever applicable.
Experience:
Professor: A minimum of 10 years of teaching/research/ industrial experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution (s) of comparable standards. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of PhD students, and a strong research record, including publications in highly reputed peer-reviewed journals, patents, laboratory/course development, sponsored research projects, and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.
Associate Professor: A minimum of 06 years of teaching/ research/ professional experience of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in an academic institution or Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer or equivalent position in a research organization or industry as on the date of application. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of M. Tech and Ph. D. students, a strong record of publications in journals of high impact factor, patents, laboratory/course development, and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.
Assistant Professor:
Grade II (Contract): Candidates with less than three years of post-Ph.D. industrial/ research/ teaching experience may be considered for this post.
Grade I (Regular): Candidates with at least three years of post-Ph.D. industrial/ research/ teaching experience may be considered for the post.
Scale of Pay: Designations and pay structures are as follows:
(i) Professor: 7th CPC Pay Level 14A, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 1,59,100/-
(ii) Associate Professor: 7th CPC Pay Level 13A2, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 1,39,600/-
(iii) Assistant Professor (Grade-I): 7th CPC Pay Level 12, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 101500/-
(iv) Assistant Professor (Grade-II): 7th CPC Pay Level 10, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 70900/-
Age Limit: The age limit for a UR candidate for the Assistant Professor Position is preferably below 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable for OBC, SC/ST & PwD candidates as per norms.
Reservation: The Institute follows the reservation policy, as applicable. Necessary supporting certificates must be enclosed with the application form to claim the benefit of reservation. Instructions from GoI/MoE issued till the date of the interview will be applicable. The extant reservation will be as follows: SC-15%; ST-7.5%; OBC(NCL)- 27%; EWS-10%. Women and PwD# applicants are encouraged to apply.
*Foreign national here means a person who does not have either an Indian passport or a PIO/OCI card. Foreign nationals can be offered contractual appointment for up to five years. The appointment can be renewed thereafter.
