IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN), India invites applications for Program Scientist – I position

                                          

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications from Indian nationals for the Program Scientist – I position in the Center for Creative Learning, purely on a contract basis.

Position:  Program Scientist – I

Principal Investigator (PI): Dr. Jasmine Anandani

Essential Qualification: The candidate should have:

1. A PhD OR

2. 1st class or equivalent in M.Tech./M.S. with at least 2 years of post-qualification

experience OR

3. 1st class or equivalent in M.Sc./B.Tech/B.E. with at least 4 years of post-qualification

experience OR

4. 1st class or equivalent in B.Sc./B.C.A with at least 8 years of post-qualification

experience

Candidates should have a minimum 60% or equivalent grade in percentage/grade points from Graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th..

Job Description: Below is the list of desirable experience and responsibilities for the candidate:

1. Should be interested in fundamental research in mathematics, and particularly interested in adapting his research to create smaller, classroom-friendly problems that can foster student interest in mathematics.
2. Formulate and solve research-level problems on mathematical
3. Identify puzzles that result from the solution of these research questions and
4. Develop simpler formulations of the problems that can be posed to students in school.
5. They should have good communication and facilitation skills in English and Hindi to conduct teacher workshops and design workshop modules.

Duration: 1 Year (extendable to one additional year)

Fellowship amount: Rs 60,000 to 93,000 depending on qualification and experience of the candidate
