Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee invites applications from Indian nationals for the Research Associate position in the Dept. of. Biosciences and Bioengineering purely on a contract basis.

Position:  Research Associate (One)

Title of project: Molecular characterization of classical and dual-function purine nucleoside phosphorylases (PNPase) providing abiotic and biotic stress tolerance in plants
 
Sponsor of the project: DBT 

Principal investigator: Prof. Harsh Chauhan, Dept. of. Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Qualifications
  • PhD in the area of Plant Molecular Biology/plant Biotechnology.
  • Prior experience in the plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture., yeast one and two hybrids, ChIp and Co-IP, protein expression, and localization is required.
  • At least two publications as first author in reputed journals
Duration: One year or completion of the project

Job description: The selected candidate will work toward genetic engineering, genonle editing, molecular, biochemical and physiological analysis of transgenic plants, gene expression analysis, sample collection, writing of manuscripts/project progress reports, etc.

Emoluments: Rs. 58.000 /- per month + HRA as per IITR rules
