Position: Post-Doctoral Researcher
Coordinator: Prof Vinu, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Madras.
Tenure of Project: Initially for one year, later extendable based on the performance
Job Description:
- Able to carry out literature survey on different solid waste management technologies and write summary reports
- Able to co-ordinate with engineers from corporation/municipalities and ground staff and collect details pertaining to different solid waste collected in Tamil Nadu
- Set-up an LCA framework for analysing the existing practices of solid waste management, and propose novel strategies of solid waste management in the city for carbon reduction using a standard LCA software
- Interact and interface effectively with other project teams in India for successful dissemination of results to stakeholders
- Organize stakeholder workshops and meetings to disseminate the results and gather inputs for development of better strategies
- Write manuscripts for publication in international peer reviewed journals for dissemination of results
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Environmental Management / Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or allied disciplines with expertise in Life Cycle Assessment pertaining to any field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years during Ph.D. research
i) Prior expertise in using any one of the following commercial LCA software packages like Open LCA, Umberto, GaBi, SimaPro is desirable
ii) Good communication and presentation skills, and writing reports and publications
Fellowship: Rs. 60000+ HRA Per month
