IIT Hyderabad invites applications for JRF positions


INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY HYDERABAD invites applications 
from Indian nationals only for Junior Research Fellow position under SERB-sponsored Project CRG/2022/001941, dated: 19th December 2022.

Position:  Junior Research Fellow (JRF).

Principal Investigator: Prof. Tarun K. Panda

Title of the Project: Development of Earth-abundant Metal-Catalyzed Hydrosilylation of Unsaturated Compounds for the Synthesis of Functional Materials

Sponsoring Agency: SCIENCE & ENGINEERING RESEARCH BOARD (SERB)

Tenure: The initial appointment will be given for 1 year and is extendable to another year based on a performance review every year till the project completion (Total project duration of 3 years).

Qualifications: 

(a) The applicant should have a good academic record in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. The Master of Science examinations should have 60% or more (or minimum 7-grade points on a scale of 10) in Chemistry from a recognized university and must have a valid GATE or CSIR/UGC NET/JRF scorecard. For the SC/ST category, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% aggregate score (minimum 6.5 grade points on a scale of 10). 

(b) Candidate should not be more than 26 Years. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of applicants belonging to scheduled caste/tribes, women, physically handicapped, and OBC candidates. 

(c) Preference will be given to candidates who have a valid CSIR/UGC JRF or INSPIRE fellowship.

Fellowship:  As per norms of the SCIENCE & ENGINEERING RESEARCH BOARD (SERB)

Selection Procedure: The selection would be through an assessment of the candidate’s academic achievements and an interview by a selection committee constituted for the purpose. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview through an online interview.

Important Notes: Certain cut-off criteria can be applied depending on the project requirement and based on the total number of applications received. The candidate selected for the position of JRF will have the option to register for the Ph.D. program at IIT Hyderabad if the candidate has a valid CSIR/UGC JRF. However, for admission to the Ph.D. program at IIT Hyderabad, the candidate must meet certain eligibility requirements and also qualify for the interview.
